1:1
當亞哈隨魯作王的日子，(這亞哈隨魯從印度直到古實，統管一百二十七省，)
Now in the days of Ahasuerus (this is the Ahasuerus who reigned from India to Ethiopia over one hundred twenty- seven provinces)
1:2
那些日子，亞哈隨魯王在書珊京城登了國位。
In those days when King Ahasuerus sat on the throne of his kingdom, which was in Susa the capital,
1:3
在位第三年，他為一切首領臣僕設擺筵宴。有波斯和瑪代的權貴、貴胄、和各省的首領在他面前；
In the third year of his reign, he held a banquet for all his princes and his servants. The army of Persia and Media, the nobles, and the princes of the provinces were before him
1:4
他把他國榮耀的豐富，和他盛大威嚴的華貴，給他們看了許多日，就是一百八十日。
As he showed the glorious wealth of his kingdom and the splendor of his great majesty for many days, for one hundred eighty days.
1:5
這些日子滿了，王又為所有在書珊京城的人民，無論尊大或卑小，在王宮花園的院內設擺筵宴七日。
And when these days were completed, the king held a banquet for seven days for all the people found in Susa the capital, both great and small, in the court of the garden of the king's palace.
1:6
有白色棉織的幔子、藍色的掛帳，用細麻繩、紫色繩繫在銀環和白玉石柱上，有金銀的床榻擺在斑岩、白玉石、珠母、黑玉石鋪的石地上。
There were white cotton curtains and blue hangings tied with cords of fine linen and purple to silver rings and marble pillars, as well as couches of gold and silver upon a pavement of porphyry, white marble, mother-of-pearl, and mosaics.
1:7
用金器皿賜酒，器皿各有不同；照著王的厚意，所賜的御酒甚多。
And drinks were served in vessels of gold, and the vessels were different from one another; and the royal wine was abundant, according to the king's bounty.
1:8
喝酒乃照著定例，不准勉強人，因王吩咐宮裏的一切臣宰，要照各人的意願待他們。
And the drinking was, by commandment, without constraint; for so the king had ordered all the officials of his house to do as each man desired.
1:9
王后瓦實提在亞哈隨魯王的王宮中，也為婦女設擺筵宴。
Also Vashti the queen held a banquet for the women in the royal house that belonged to King Ahasuerus.
1:10
第七日，亞哈隨魯王飲酒，心中快樂，就吩咐在他面前侍立的七個太監米戶幔、比斯他、哈波拿、比革他、亞拔他、西達、甲迦，
On the seventh day, when the heart of the king was merry with wine, he commanded Mehuman, Biztha, Harbona, Bigtha, and Abagtha, Zethar, and Carcas, the seven eunuchs who served in the presence of Ahasuerus the king,
1:11
請王后瓦實提戴著后冠到王面前，使各民和臣宰看她的美麗，因為她容貌甚美。
To bring Vashti the queen before the king with the royal crown, in order to show her beauty to the peoples and the princes; for she was beautiful in appearance.
1:12
王后瓦實提卻不肯遵王藉太監所傳的命令而來，所以王甚發怒，怒火中燒。
But Queen Vashti refused to come at the king's command given through the king's eunuchs; and the king became very angry, and his wrath burned within him.
1:13
王就問通達時務的智慧人說，(按王的常規，辦事必先詢問一切通曉法例和公理的人；
Then the king said to the wise men, who knew the times (for such was the custom of the king toward all who knew law and justice;
1:14
那在王左右的是波斯和瑪代的七個首領甲示拿、示達、押瑪他、他施斯、米力、瑪西拿和米母干，他們常見王面，在國中坐首位，)
And those next to him were Carshena, Shethar, Admatha, Tarshish, Meres, Marsena, and Memucan, the seven princes of Persia and Media, who saw the king's face and sat first in the kingdom):
1:15
王后瓦實提不遵行亞哈隨魯王藉太監所傳的命令，照法例應當怎樣對待她？
According to the law, what is to be done to Queen Vashti because she has not performed the command of King Ahasuerus given through the eunuchs?
1:16
米母干在王和眾首領面前回答說，王后瓦實提不但得罪王，也得罪亞哈隨魯王各省的臣民；
And Memucan answered before the king and the princes, Vashti the queen has done wrong not only to the king but also to all the princes and all the peoples who are in all the provinces of King Ahasuerus.
1:17
因為王后所行的這事必傳到眾婦人的耳中，說，亞哈隨魯王吩咐王后瓦實提到王面前，她卻不來，這就使她們藐視自己的丈夫。
For this deed of the queen will go out to all women, causing them to view their husbands contemptibly as they say, King Ahasuerus commanded Vashti the queen to be brought to his presence, but she did not come.
1:18
今日波斯和瑪代的眾夫人聽見王后所行的這事，必向王的眾臣照樣行；這樣就必多有藐視和忿怒的事了。
And this day the princesses of Persia and Media who have heard of the queen's deed will speak likewise to all the king's princes, and contempt and wrath will abound.
1:19
王若以為美，可以降旨，寫在波斯和瑪代人的法例中，永不廢除，不准瓦實提再到亞哈隨魯王面前，又請王將她王后的位分賜給比她好的人。
If it please the king, let a royal order go forth from him, and let it be written among the laws of the Persians and the Medes, so that it cannot be overruled, that Vashti come no more into the presence of King Ahasuerus and that the king give her royal estate to another who is better than she.
1:20
王所降的旨意傳遍通國，(國度本來廣大，)所有的婦人，無論丈夫尊大或卑小，都必尊敬丈夫。
And when the king's decree which he will make is heard throughout all his kingdom, vast though it is, all women will give honor to their husbands, great and small.
1:21
王和眾首領都以米母干的話為美，王就照這話去行，
And this word pleased the king and the princes, and the king did according to Memucan's word.
1:22
發詔書到王的各省，依照各省的文字達於各省，依照各族的方言達於各族，使作丈夫的在自己家中作主，各說本族的方言。
So he sent letters to all the king's provinces, to each province in its own script and to each people in their own language, that every man should be master in his own house and speak in the language of his own people.
2:1
這些事以後，亞哈隨魯王的忿怒止息，就想念瓦實提和她所行的，並怎樣降旨辦她。
After these things, when the anger of King Ahasuerus subsided, he remembered Vashti and what she had done and what had been decreed against her.
2:2
於是王的侍臣對王說，不如為王尋找美貌的年少處女。
Then the king's attendants who served him said, Let young virgins, beautiful in appearance, be sought for the king;
2:3
王可以派官員在國中的各省，把一切美貌的年少處女招聚到書珊京城的女院，交在王的太監，那照管女子的希該手下，給她們美容潤身的用品。
And let the king appoint officers in all the provinces of his kingdom to gather all the young virgins, beautiful in appearance, to Susa the capital, to the house of the women and into the custody of Hegai the king's eunuch, who is in charge of the women; and let their cosmetics be given to them.
2:4
王所喜愛的少女可以立為王后，代替瓦實提。王以這事為美，就如此行。
And let the young woman who pleases the king become queen in place of Vashti. And the word pleased the king, and he did so.
2:5
在書珊京城有一個猶大人，名叫末底改，是便雅憫人基士的曾孫，示每的孫子，睚珥的兒子；
There was a Jew in Susa the capital whose name was Mordecai the son of Jair, the son of Shimei, the son of Kish, a Benjaminite,
2:6
從前巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒將猶大王耶哥尼雅遷徙去，末底改也在那些與耶哥尼雅一同被擄的人中，從耶路撒冷被遷去。
Who had been carried away from Jerusalem with the captives who had been carried away with Jeconiah the king of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away.
2:7
末底改撫養他叔叔的女兒哈大沙，就是以斯帖，因為她沒有父母；這女子形貌美麗。她父母死了，末底改就收她為自己的女兒。
And he was foster father to Hadassah, that is, Esther, his uncle's daughter, for she had neither father nor mother; and the young woman was beautiful in form and appearance. And when her father and mother died, Mordecai took her to himself as his daughter.
2:8
王的諭旨和法令傳出，許多少女被招聚到書珊京城，交在希該手下，以斯帖也在這時候被帶進王宮，交在照管女子的希該手下。
So when the king's commandment and his decree were heard, and when many young women were gathered to Susa the capital into the custody of Hegai, Esther was taken to the king's house into the custody of Hegai, who was in charge of the women.
2:9
這少女得希該喜悅，就在他面前得恩慈。希該急速給她美容潤身的用品，和她所當得的分，又給她所當得、七個從王宮挑選的侍女，並使她和她的侍女搬入女院上好的地方。
And the young woman pleased him, and she obtained kindness in his presence. And he quickly gave her her cosmetics and her portions as well as the seven choice young maids who were to be given her from the king's house. And he transferred her and her young maids to the best place in the house of the women.
2:10
以斯帖未曾將她是那一族、有那些親屬告訴人，因為末底改囑咐她不可叫人知道。
Esther did not make known her people or her kindred, for Mordecai had charged her not to make these known.
2:11
末底改天天在女院前行走，要知道以斯帖平安不平安，並情況如何。
And every day Mordecai walked in front of the court of the house of the women to learn how Esther was and what was happening to her.
2:12
原來女子要先美容潤身，六個月用沒藥油，六個月用香料和女子美容潤身的用品，美容潤身的日期纔滿足；每個少女按女子的定例豫備滿十二個月，挨次進去見亞哈隨魯王時，
Now when the turn of each young woman came to go in to King Ahasuerus, at the end of the twelve months of her preparation according to the regulation for the women (for the days of their beautification were completed as follows: six months with oil of myrrh and six months with spices and with the women's cosmetics),
2:13
乃是這樣進去見王：從女院到王宮的時候，凡她所要的，都必給她帶去。
The young woman would go in to the king in this way: Anything that she desired was given her to go with her from the house of the women to the house of the king.
2:14
晚上進去，次日早晨回到女子第二院，交在王的太監，那照管妃嬪的沙甲手下。除非王喜愛她，她被題名召見，就不再進去見王。
In the evening she would go in, and in the morning she would return to the second house of the women, to the custody of Shaashgaz the king's eunuch, who was in charge of the concubines. She would not go again in to the king unless the king delighted in her and she was summoned by name.
2:15
末底改叔叔亞比孩的女兒，就是末底改收為自己女兒的以斯帖，按次序當進去見王的時候，除了照管女子的太監希該所指定的，她別無所求。凡看見以斯帖的都喜悅她。
Now when the turn of Esther the daughter of Abihail, the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her to himself as his daughter, came to go in to the king, she requested nothing except what Hegai the king's eunuch, who was in charge of the women, advised. And Esther obtained favor in the sight of all who saw her.
2:16
亞哈隨魯王在位第七年十月，就是提別月，以斯帖被引入王宮見王。
So Esther was taken to King Ahasuerus in his royal palace in the tenth month, which is the month Tebeth, in the seventh year of his reign.
2:17
王愛以斯帖過於愛眾女子；她在王面前得蒙恩寵與恩慈，比眾處女更甚；王就把后冠戴在她頭上，立她為王后，代替瓦實提。
And the king loved Esther more than all the other women. And she obtained favor and kindness with him more than all the other virgins, so he set the royal crown on her head and made her queen in place of Vashti.
2:18
王給眾首領和臣僕設擺盛大的筵宴，稱之為以斯帖的筵宴，又向各省行豁免的事，並照王的厚意大頒賞賜。
And the king held a great banquet for all his princes and his servants, Esther's banquet; and he made it a holiday for the provinces and gave gifts according to the king's bounty.
2:19
第二次招聚處女的時候，末底改坐在王門那裏。
And when the virgins were gathered together the second time, Mordecai was sitting in the king's gate.
2:20
以斯帖照著末底改所囑咐的，還沒有將她有那些親屬，是那一族告訴人；因為以斯帖遵行末底改所說的，如同受他撫養的時候一樣。
Esther had not yet made known her kindred or her people, as Mordecai had charged her; for Esther did what Mordecai told her, as she had when he was bringing her up.
2:21
當那些日子，末底改坐在王門那裏，王有兩個太監辟探和提列，是守門的，惱恨亞哈隨魯王，想要下手害他。
In those days, while Mordecai was sitting in the king's gate, Bigthan and Teresh, two of the king's eunuchs, among those who were in charge of the threshold, became angry and sought to lay hands on King Ahasuerus.
2:22
這事給末底改知道了，他就告訴王后以斯帖；以斯帖奉末底改的名，報告于王。這事經過究察，果然是實，就把二人掛在木架上；
And the thing became known to Mordecai, and he told Esther the queen; and Esther told the king in Mordecai's name.
2:23
這事且在王面前寫在年代志上。
And when the matter was investigated and found to be so, the two of them were hanged on the gallows; and it was written in the book of the chronicles in the presence of the king.

使徒行傳 Acts 21：1-17
21:1
我們離別了眾人，就開船直航，來到哥士，第二天到了羅底，從那裏到帕大喇；
And when we parted from them and set sail, we took a straight course and came to Cos, and on the next day to Rhodes, and from there to Patara.
21:2
遇見一隻船要開往腓尼基去，就上船起行。
And having found a ship crossing over to Phoenicia, we went on board and set sail.
21:3
望見居比路，就從左邊駛過，往敘利亞去，我們就在推羅上岸，因為船要在那裏卸貨。
And when we sighted Cyprus and left it on the left, we sailed to Syria and came down to Tyre; for there the ship was to unload its cargo.
21:4
我們找著了門徒，就在那裏住了七天。他們藉著那靈對保羅說，不要上耶路撒冷去。
And when we had sought out the disciples, we remained there seven days. These told Paul through the Spirit not to set foot in Jerusalem.
21:5
過了這幾天，我們就動身前行，眾人同妻子兒女送我們到城外，我們都跪在岸上禱告，彼此辭別。
And when we completed the days, we went forth and went on our way, with all of them, including the women and children, escorting us until we were outside the city. And when we had knelt down on the beach and prayed,
21:6
我們上了船，他們就回自己家裏去了。
We took leave of one another and went on board the ship; and they returned home.
21:7
我們行完了航程，從推羅來到多利買，問候弟兄們，同他們住了一天。
And when we finished the voyage from Tyre, we arrived at Ptolemais; and we greeted the brothers and remained with them one day.
21:8
第二天，我們離開那裏，來到該撒利亞，就進了傳福音者腓利家裏，和他同住，他是那七個執事裏的一個。
And on the next day we went forth and came to Caesarea; and entering into the house of Philip the evangelist, who was one of the seven, we remained with him.
21:9
他有四個女兒，都是童女，是說豫言的。
Now this man had four virgin daughters who prophesied.
21:10
我們多住了幾天，有一個申言者名叫亞迦布，從猶太下來。
And while we remained there many days, a certain prophet named Agabus came down from Judea.
21:11
到了我們這裏，就拿保羅的腰帶，捆上自己的手腳，說，聖靈這樣說，猶太人在耶路撒冷，要如此捆綁這腰帶的主人，把他交在外邦人手裏。
And he came to us and took Paul's belt; and having bound his own feet and hands, he said, Thus says the Holy Spirit, In this way will the Jews in Jerusalem bind the man whose belt this is and deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.
21:12
我們聽見這話，就和當地的人苦勸保羅不要上耶路撒冷去。
And when we heard these things, both we and those in that place entreated him not to go up to Jerusalem.
21:13
保羅卻回答說，你們為甚麼痛哭，使我心碎？我為主耶穌的名，不但被捆綁，就是死在耶路撒冷，我也準備好了。
Then Paul answered, What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.
21:14
保羅既不聽勸，我們也就靜默，只說，願主的旨意成就。
And since he would not be persuaded, we became silent, saying, The will of the Lord be done.
21:15
過了幾天，我們便收拾行李，上耶路撒冷去。
And after these days we gathered our baggage and went up to Jerusalem.
21:16
有該撒利亞的幾個門徒也和我們同去，帶著一個久為門徒的居比路人拿孫，我們好與他同住。
And some of the disciples from Caesarea also went with us, bringing us to a certain Mnason of Cyprus, an early disciple, with whom we were to lodge.
21:17
到了耶路撒冷，弟兄們歡歡喜喜的接待我們。
And when we had come to Jerusalem, the brothers welcomed us gladly.
