約伯記 Job 35：1-37：24
35:1
以利戶繼續說，
Then Elihu continued and said,
35:2
你說，我的公義勝於神的公義；你以為這樣說有理，
Do you consider this to be just, Do you say, My righteousness is more than God's,
35:3
所以纔說，這與我有甚麼益處？我不犯罪比犯罪有甚麼好處？
That you say, What advantage is there to me, What do I profit, more than if I had sinned?
35:4
我要用言語回答你，和在你這裏的朋友。
I will respond to you with words, And to your companions with you.
35:5
你當向天觀看，瞻望那高於你的穹蒼。
Look unto heaven and see; And behold the skies: They are higher than you.
35:6
你若犯罪，對神能造成甚麼妨礙？你的過犯增多，對神能作出甚麼損害？
If you sin, what do you accomplish against Him? And if your transgressions are multiplied, what do you do to Him?
35:7
你若是公義，能給祂甚麼？或者祂能從你手裏接受甚麼？
If you are righteous, what can you give to Him, Or what does He receive from your hand?
35:8
你的邪惡只能害像你這樣的人，你的公義只能叫世人得益處。
Your wickedness affects a man like you, And your righteousness, a son of man.
35:9
人因多受欺壓就哀求，因強權者的轄制便呼救；
Because of the multitude of oppressions they cry out; They cry for help because of the arm of the mighty.
35:10
卻無人說，造我的神在那裏？祂使人夜間歌唱，
But no one says, Where is God my Maker, Who gives songs in the night,
35:11
教訓我們勝於地上的走獸，使我們有智慧勝於空中的飛鳥。
Who teaches us more than the beasts of the earth And makes us wiser than the birds of heaven?
35:12
他們在那裏，因惡人的驕傲呼求，祂卻不答應。
There they cry, but He does not answer, Because of the pride of evil men.
35:13
虛妄的呼求，神必不垂聽，全能者也必不理會。
Surely God does not hear an empty cry, And the Almighty does not regard it.
35:14
何況你說，你不得見祂，你的案件在祂面前，你正等候祂！
How much less when you say that you do not behold Him, That the cause is before Him and you are waiting on Him!
35:15
但如今因祂未曾在怒中查究，也不甚理會狂傲，
But now, because He has not visited in His anger Nor regarded such great arrogance,
35:16
所以約伯開口說虛妄的話，多發無知識的言語。
Job opens his mouth in vanity; He multiplies words without knowledge.
36:1
以利戶又接著說，
And Elihu added this and said,
36:2
你再容我片時，我就指示你；因我還有話為神說。
Bear with me a little, and I will show you; For there is more to say for God.
36:3
我要將所知道的從遠處引來，將公義歸給造我的主。
I will bring my knowledge from afar And will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.
36:4
我的言語真不虛謊；有一位知識全備的與你同在。
For truly my words are not false; One perfect in knowledge is with you.
36:5
看哪，神有大能，並不藐視人；祂大有智慧的能力。
Indeed, God is mighty and does not despise; He is mighty in strength of understanding.
36:6
祂不容惡人存活，卻為困苦人伸冤。
He does not preserve the wicked man alive, But gives justice to the afflicted.
36:7
祂的眼目時常看顧義人，祂使他們永遠和君王同坐寶座，他們就得著高舉。
He does not withdraw His eyes from the righteous; And with kings on the throne, He sets them forever, and they are exalted.
36:8
他們若被鎖鍊捆住，被苦難的繩索纏住，
And if they are bound in fetters, If they are caught in the cords of affliction,
36:9
祂就把他們的作為和過犯指示他們，叫他們知道自己行動驕傲。
He shows them their work And their transgressions, that they have acted arrogantly.
36:10
祂也開通他們的耳朵得受教訓，吩咐他們離開罪孽轉回。
He also opens their ear to instruction And commands that they return from iniquity.
36:11
他們若聽從事奉祂，就必度日亨通，歷年福樂。
If they hear and serve Him, They will spend their days in prosperity And their years in pleasantness.
36:12
若不聽從，就要被刀殺滅，無知無識而死。
But if they do not hear, they will pass away by the sword And die without knowledge.
36:13
但那心中不虔敬的人，積蓄怒氣；神捆綁他們時，他們竟不呼救。
But those who are profane in heart lay up anger; They do not cry for help when He binds them.
36:14
他們必在青年時死亡，與極污穢的人一樣喪命。
They die in youth, And their life ends among the most defiled.
36:15
神藉著困苦人所受的困苦救拔他們，藉著他們所受的欺壓開通他們的耳朵。
He rescues the afflicted by their affliction And opens their ear through oppression.
36:16
神也必引你出離患難的虎口，進入寬闊不狹窄之地；擺在你席上的，必滿有肥甘。
Indeed He allures you from the jaws of distress Into a spacious place, where there is no constraint; And what is upon your table is full of fatness.
36:17
但你滿有惡人所當受的審判；判斷和刑罰抓住了你。
But you are filled with the judgment of the wicked; Judgment and litigation have taken hold of you.
36:18
不可容忿怒觸動你侮慢神，也不可因贖價大就偏行。
Beware lest wrath allures you into scoffing, And do not let the greatness of the ransom turn you aside.
36:19
你的呼救，或是你一切的勢力，能叫你不受患難麼？
Will your cry keep you from being in distress, Or all the forces of your strength?
36:20
不要切慕黑夜，就是眾民在本處被除滅的時候。
Do not long for the night, When people are taken from their place.
36:21
你要謹慎，不可轉向罪孽；因你選擇罪孽，過於選擇苦難。
Take heed; do not turn toward iniquity; For you have chosen this rather than affliction.
36:22
看哪，神因自己的能力被高舉：教訓人的，有誰像祂？
Indeed, God is exalted in His power: Who is a teacher like Him?
36:23
誰派定祂的道路？誰說，你所行的不義？
Who has appointed His way for Him? And who says, You have done wrong?
36:24
你要記得稱讚祂所行的為大，就是人所歌頌的。
Remember to magnify His work, Of which men sing.
36:25
祂所行的，萬人都看見；世人都從遠處觀看。
All mankind has gazed on it; Man beholds it from afar.
36:26
看哪，神為大，我們不能知曉；祂的年數不能測度。
Indeed, God is great, and we do not know Him; The number of His years we also cannot search out.
36:27
祂吸取水點，這水點從祂的雲霧中滴下成雨；
For He draws up the drops of water Which distill into rain from His mist,
36:28
雲霓將雨落下，沛然降與世人。
Which the skies pour down And drop upon man abundantly.
36:29
人真能明白雲彩如何鋪張，神的帷幕如何發出雷聲麼？
Can they indeed understand the spreading of the clouds, The thunderings of His pavilion?
36:30
祂將閃電佈散在自己四圍，又遮覆海底。
Indeed, He scatters His lightning around Him And covers the roots of the sea.
36:31
祂用這些審判眾民，且賜豐富的糧食。
For by these He judges the peoples; He gives food in abundance.
36:32
祂以閃電遮手，命閃電擊中目標。
He fills His hands with lightning And commands it to strike the mark.
36:33
所發的雷聲將祂指明；牲畜也指明祂要來了。
Its noise tells of Him; The cattle as well tell concerning Him who is coming.
37:1
我的心也因此戰兢，跳離原處。
At this, too, my heart trembles And leaps from its place.
37:2
你們要留心聽神轟轟的聲音，聽祂口中所發的響聲。
Hear attentively the noise of His voice And the sound that goes forth from His mouth.
37:3
祂發出響聲震遍天下，發出閃電直到地極。
He sends it forth under the whole heaven, And His lightning unto the ends of the earth.
37:4
隨後有雷聲轟轟，祂以自己威嚴之聲打雷，人聽見雷聲時，閃電仍然不斷。
After it a voice roars; He thunders with the voice of His majesty And does not withhold the lightning When His voice is heard.
37:5
神奇妙的發出雷聲；祂行大事，我們不能知曉。
God thunders wondrously with His voice; He does great things that we cannot comprehend.
37:6
祂對雪說，要降在地上；對大雨和暴雨，也是這樣說。
For He says to the snow, Fall on the earth, And to the rain shower and His mighty showers of rain.
37:7
祂封住各人的手，叫萬人都曉得祂的作為。
He seals the hand of every man, That all men may know His doing.
37:8
野獸進入穴中，留在洞內。
Then the beast enters its lair And remains in its dens.
37:9
暴風出於南宮，寒冷出於北風。
Out of its chamber comes the whirlwind, And from scattering winds, cold.
37:10
神噓氣成冰，寬闊之水也都凝結。
From the breath of God ice is yielded, And the expanse of waters is frozen.
37:11
祂又使密雲盛滿水氣；佈散閃電之雲；
He also loads the thick clouds with moisture; He scatters His lightning clouds;
37:12
這雲藉著祂的指引，遊行旋轉，得以在居人之地上，遂行祂一切所吩咐的；
And they turn about by His guidance, That they may accomplish All that He has commanded them Upon the surface of the inhabited earth;
37:13
祂使這雲臨到，或為責罰，或為滋潤地，或為施行慈愛。
Whether for scourge or for His land Or for lovingkindness' sake, He causes it to happen.
37:14
約伯阿，你要側耳聽這話；要站立思想神奇妙的作為。
Give ear to this, Job; Stand still and consider the wondrous acts of God.
37:15
神如何向這些下令，如何使雲中的閃電照耀，你知道麼？
Do you know how God lays His charge upon them And causes His lightning clouds to shine?
37:16
密雲如何浮於空中，那知識全備者奇妙的作為，你知道麼？
Do you know about the balancing of the thick clouds, The wondrous acts of Him who is perfect in knowledge?
37:17
地因南風而寂靜時，你的衣服就熱起來，
You whose garments heat up When, because of the south wind, the earth is still,
37:18
你豈能與神同鋪穹蒼麼？這穹蒼堅硬如鑄成的鏡子。
Can you spread out the skies with Him, The skies which are as hard as a molten mirror?
37:19
我們因昏暗不能陳明我們的話，請你指教我們該對祂說甚麼。
Teach us what to say to Him; We cannot arrange our words because of the darkness.
37:20
人豈可對祂說，我要說話？豈有人自願被吞滅麼？
Should it be said to Him, I will speak? Or should a man say that he will be swallowed up?
37:21
現在有雲遮蔽，人不得見光，但這光在雲上是明亮的；風一吹過，就使天清明。
But now men do not look at the light, Which is brilliant in the skies When the wind has passed and cleared them.
37:22
金光出於北方；在神那裏有可怕的威嚴。
Out of the north comes golden splendor; Upon God is the awesomeness of majesty.
37:23
全能者是我們無法尋得的；祂大有能力，必不破壞公平和大義。
The Almighty-we cannot find Him out; He is excellent in power, And justice and the abundance of righteousness He will not damage.
37:24
所以人敬畏祂；凡自以為心中有智慧的人，祂都不看顧。
Therefore men fear Him; He does not look upon any who are wise of heart.
新約New Testament
羅馬書 Romans 2：1-16
2:1
人哪，每一個審判人的！你是無法推諉的，你在甚麼事上審判人，就在甚麼事上定自己的罪；因你這審判人的，也行同樣的事。
Therefore you are without excuse, O every man who judges, for in what you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things.
2:2
我們知道行這樣事的人，神必按真理審判他。
But we know that the judgment of God is according to truth upon those who practice such things.
2:3
人哪，你審判行這樣事的人，自己卻照樣行，你以為能逃脫神的審判麼？
And do you consider this, O man, who judge those who practice such things and do the same yourself, that you will escape the judgment of God?
2:4
還是你藐視祂豐富的恩慈、寬容與恆忍，不曉得神的恩慈是領你悔改？
Or do you despise the riches of His kindness and forbearance and long-suffering, not knowing that God's kindness is leading you to repentance?
2:5
你竟任著你剛硬不悔改的心，為自己在神動怒並顯示祂公義審判的日子，積蓄忿怒。
But, according to your hardness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God,
2:6
祂必照各人的行為報應各人：
Who will render to each according to his works:
2:7
凡恆心行善，尋求榮耀、尊貴和不朽壞的，就以永遠的生命報應他們；
To those who by endurance in good work seek glory and honor and incorruptibility, life eternal;
2:8
惟有私圖好爭，不信從真理，反信從不義的，就以忿怒、惱恨報應他們；
But to those who are selfishly contentious and disobedient to the truth and obey unrighteousness, wrath and fury.
2:9
將患難、困苦加給一切作惡的人，先是猶太人，後是希利尼人；
Tribulation and anguish upon every soul of man who commits evil, both of Jew first and of Greek;
2:10
卻將榮耀、尊貴與平安加給一切行善的人，先是猶太人，後是希利尼人。
But glory and honor and peace to everyone who works good, both to Jew first and to Greek.
2:11
因為神並不偏待人。
For there is no respect of persons with God.
2:12
凡在律法以外犯了罪的，也必在律法以外滅亡；凡在律法以下犯了罪的，必按律法受審判，
For as many as have sinned without the law shall also perish without the law; and as many as have sinned under the law shall be judged by the law
2:13
（原來在神面前，不是聽律法的為義，乃是行律法的稱義。
(For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
2:14
沒有律法的外邦人，若順著本性行律法上的事，他們雖然沒有律法，自己就是自己的律法：
For when Gentiles, who have no law, do by nature the things of the law, these, though they have no law, are a law to themselves,
2:15
他們顯出那寫在他們心裏律法的功用，他們的良心同作見證，並且他們的思想互相控告或者也辯護。）
Who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness with it and their reasonings, one with the other, accusing or even excusing them.)
2:16
就是在神藉耶穌基督，照著我的福音，審判人隱祕事的日子。
In the day when God judges the secrets of men according to my gospel through Jesus Christ.
