耶和華在西乃山對摩西說話的日子，亞倫和摩西的後代如下：
Now these are the generations of Aaron and Moses at the time when Jehovah spoke with Moses on Mount Sinai.
3:2
亞倫的兒子，長子名叫拿答，還有亞比戶、以利亞撒、以他瑪。
And these are the names of the sons of Aaron: Nadab the firstborn and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar;
3:3
這些是亞倫兒子的名字，他們都是受膏的祭司，承接聖職供祭司職分的。
These are the names of the sons of Aaron, the anointed priests, whose hands were filled to serve as priests.
3:4
但拿答、亞比戶在西乃的曠野，在耶和華面前獻凡火的時候，死在耶和華面前；他們沒有兒子。因此以利亞撒、以他瑪在他們的父親亞倫面前供祭司的職分。
But Nadab and Abihu died before Jehovah when they offered strange fire before Jehovah in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no children. So Eleazar and Ithamar served as priests in the presence of Aaron their father.
3:5
耶和華對摩西說，
And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
3:6
你使利未支派近前來，站在祭司亞倫面前服事他；
Bring the tribe of Levi near and set them before Aaron the priest, that they may minister to him.
3:7
他們要在會幕前，守所吩咐亞倫和全會眾的，辦理帳幕的事。
And they shall keep his charge and the charge of the whole assembly before the Tent of Meeting to do the service of the tabernacle.
3:8
他們要看守會幕的一切物件，並守所吩咐以色列人的，辦理帳幕的事。
And they shall keep all the furnishings of the Tent of Meeting and the charge of the children of Israel to do the service of the tabernacle.
3:9
你要將利未人給亞倫和他的兒子們；他們是從以色列人中選出來，完全給他的。
And you shall give the Levites to Aaron and to his sons; they are wholly given to him from among the children of Israel.
3:10
你要指派亞倫和他的兒子們，使他們謹守自己祭司的職任；但近前來的外人要被處死。
And you shall appoint Aaron and his sons, and they shall keep their priesthood; but the stranger who comes near shall be put to death.
3:11
耶和華對摩西說，
Then Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
3:12
看哪，我從以色列人中選取了利未人，代替以色列人一切頭生的；利未人要屬我。
As for Me, I have now taken the Levites from among the children of Israel instead of every firstborn who opens the womb among the children of Israel. So the Levites shall be Mine.
3:13
因為凡頭生的都是我的；我在埃及地擊殺一切頭生的那日，就把以色列中一切頭生的，連人帶牲畜都分別為聖歸我；他們定要屬我。我是耶和華。
For all the firstborn are Mine; on the day that I struck all the firstborn in the land of Egypt I sanctified to Myself all the firstborn in Israel, both man and beast. They shall be Mine; I am Jehovah.
3:14
耶和華在西乃的曠野對摩西說，
Then Jehovah spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, saying,
3:15
你要按利未人的宗族、家族數點他們；凡一個月以上的男子，都要數點。
Number the children of Levi by their fathers' households, by their families; every male from a month old and upward you shall number.
3:16
於是摩西照耶和華所吩咐他的話，數點他們。
And Moses numbered them according to the word of Jehovah, as he was commanded.
3:17
利未眾子的名字是革順、哥轄、米拉利。
And these were the sons of Levi by their names: Gershon and Kohath and Merari.
3:18
革順的兒子，按著家族，名字是立尼、示每。
And these are the names of the sons of Gershon according to their families: Libni and Shimei.
3:19
哥轄的兒子，按著家族，是暗蘭、以斯哈、希伯倫、烏薛。
And the sons of Kohath by their families: Amram and Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel.
3:20
米拉利的兒子，按著家族，是抹利、母示。這些按著宗族，是利未人的家族。
And the sons of Merari according to their families: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to their fathers' households.
3:21
屬革順的，有立尼家族、示每家族；這些是革順的家族。
Of Gershon was the family of the Libnites and the family of the Shimeites; these are the families of the Gershonites.
3:22
其中被數點的，按所有男子的數目，從一個月以上的，有七千五百名。
Those who were numbered of them, according to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, even those who were numbered of them were seven thousand five hundred.
3:23
革順的家族要在帳幕後面、西邊安營。
The families of the Gershonites shall encamp behind the tabernacle on the west.
3:24
革順人宗族的首領是拉伊勒的兒子以利雅薩。
And the leader of the father's household of the Gershonites shall be Eliasaph the son of Lael.
3:25
革順的子孫在會幕中所要看守的，是帳幕和罩棚，罩棚的蓋與會幕的門簾，
And the charge of the sons of Gershon in the Tent of Meeting shall be the tabernacle and the tent, its covering and the screen for the entrance of the Tent of Meeting,
3:26
院子的帷子和門簾，(院子是圍著帳幕和祭壇的，)並一切使用的繩子。
And the hangings of the court, and the screen for the entrance of the court, which is around the tabernacle and around the altar, and its cords for all its service.
3:27
屬哥轄的，有暗蘭家族、以斯哈家族、希伯倫家族、烏薛家族；這些是哥轄的家族。
And of Kohath was the family of the Amramites and the family of the Izharites and the family of the Hebronites and the family of the Uzzielites; these are the families of the Kohathites.
3:28
按所有男子的數目，從一個月以上的，有八千六百名；他們是看守聖所的。
According to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, there were eight thousand six hundred, keeping the charge of the sanctuary.
3:29
哥轄子孫的家族要在帳幕的南邊安營。
The families of the sons of Kohath shall encamp on the side of the tabernacle to the south.
3:30
哥轄人家族之宗族的首領是烏薛的兒子以利撒反。
And the leader of the father's household of the families of the Kohathites shall be Elizaphan the son of Uzziel.
3:31
他們要看守約櫃、桌子、燈檯、兩座壇、聖所內供職用的器具和簾子，並負責一切有關的事務。
And their charge shall be the Ark and the table and the lampstand and the altars and the utensils of the sanctuary with which they minister and the screen and all its service.
3:32
祭司亞倫的兒子以利亞撒是利未人眾首領的首領，要監督那些看守聖所的人。
And Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest shall be leader of the leaders of the Levites and have the oversight of those who keep the charge of the sanctuary.
3:33
屬米拉利的，有抹利家族、母示家族；這些是米拉利的家族。
Of Merari was the family of the Mahlites and the family of the Mushites; these are the families of Merari.
3:34
他們被數點的，按所有男子的數目，從一個月以上的，有六千二百名。
And those who were numbered of them, according to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward: six thousand two hundred.
3:35
米拉利人家族之宗族的首領是亞比亥的兒子蘇列；他們要在帳幕的北邊安營。
And the leader of the father's household of the families of Merari was Zuriel the son of Abihail. They shall encamp on the side of the tabernacle to the north.
3:36
米拉利的子孫受派看守帳幕的板、閂、柱子、卯座、和一切的器具，負責一切有關的事務，
And the appointed charge of the sons of Merari shall be the boards of the tabernacle and its bars and its pillars and its sockets and all its equipment and all the service pertaining to it,
3:37
並看守院子四圍的柱子、卯座、橛子和繩子。
And the pillars around the court and their sockets and their pegs and their cords.
3:38
在帳幕前面、東邊，就是會幕前面、向日出之地安營的，是摩西、亞倫和亞倫的兒子。他們看守聖所，守所吩咐以色列人的；近前來的外人要被處死。
And those who encamp before the tabernacle to the east, before the Tent of Meeting toward the sunrise, shall be Moses and Aaron and his sons, keeping the charge of the sanctuary for the charge of the children of Israel; and the stranger who comes near shall be put to death.
3:39
凡被數點的利未人，就是摩西、亞倫照耶和華吩咐所數點的，按著家族，從一個月以上所有的男子，有二萬二千名。
All who were numbered of the Levites, whom Moses and Aaron numbered at the commandment of Jehovah, by their families, all the males from a month old and upward were twenty-two thousand.
3:40
耶和華對摩西說，你要數點以色列人中，一個月以上所有頭生的男子，記下他們名字的數目。
And Jehovah said to Moses, Number all the firstborn males of the children of Israel from a month old and upward, and take the number of their names.
3:41
我是耶和華，你要選取利未人歸我，代替以色列人中所有頭生的，也要取利未人的牲畜代替以色列人的牲畜中所有頭生的。
And you shall take the Levites for Me-I am Jehovah-instead of all the firstborn among the children of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the cattle of the children of Israel.
3:42
摩西就照耶和華所吩咐的，把以色列人中所有頭生的都數點了。
And Moses numbered, just as Jehovah commanded him, all the firstborn among the children of Israel.
3:43
按人名的數目，從一個月以上所有頭生的男子，被數點的共有二萬二千二百七十三名。
And all the firstborn males according to the number of names, from a month old and upward, of those who were numbered of them were twenty-two thousand two hundred seventy-three.
3:44
耶和華對摩西說，
Then Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
3:45
你要選取利未人代替以色列人中所有頭生的，也要取利未人的牲畜代替以色列人的牲畜。利未人要屬我；我是耶和華。
Take the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the children of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites instead of their cattle; and the Levites shall be Mine; I am Jehovah.
3:46
以色列人頭生的男子比利未人多二百七十三個，必當將他們贖出來；
And for the redemption of the two hundred seventy-three of the firstborn of the children of Israel over and above the number of the Levites,
3:47
你要按人丁，照聖所的舍客勒，每人取贖銀五舍客勒，(一舍客勒是二十季拉，)
You shall take five shekels apiece per head; according to the shekel of the sanctuary you shall take them. (The shekel is twenty gerahs.)
3:48
把那多出之人的贖銀，交給亞倫和他的兒子。
And you shall give the money, by which the excess number of them is redeemed, to Aaron and to his sons.
3:49
於是摩西從那些被利未人所贖以外的人取了贖銀。
So Moses took the redemption money from those who were over and above those who were redeemed by the Levites;
3:50
從以色列人頭生的所取之銀，按聖所的舍客勒，有一千三百六十五舍客勒。
From the firstborn of the children of Israel he took the money, a thousand three hundred sixty-five shekels according to the shekel of the sanctuary.
3:51
摩西照耶和華的話，把這贖銀交給亞倫和他的兒子，正如耶和華所吩咐的。
And Moses gave the redemption money to Aaron and to his sons, according to the word of Jehovah, as Jehovah had commanded Moses.
4:1
耶和華對摩西、亞倫說，
Then Jehovah spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,
4:2
你要從利未子孫中，計算哥轄子孫的總數；按他們的家族、宗族，
Take the sum of the sons of Kohath from among the sons of Levi, by their families, by their fathers' households,
4:3
從三十歲直到五十歲，凡進來事奉，在會幕裏作工的，全都計算。
From thirty years old and upward even to fifty years old, all who enter into the service to perform the skilled work in the Tent of Meeting.
4:4
哥轄子孫在會幕裏搬運至聖之物，所辦的事乃是這樣：
This is the service of the sons of Kohath in the Tent of Meeting concerning the most holy things.
4:5
起營的時候，亞倫和他兒子要進去摘下遮掩櫃的幔子，用以蒙蓋見證的櫃；
When the camp sets out, Aaron and his sons shall go in, and they shall take down the veil of the screen and cover the Ark of the Testimony with it,
4:6
又放上海狗皮蓋，再鋪上全藍色的布，並把杠穿上。
And they shall put on it a covering of porpoise skin, and shall spread over it a cloth all of blue strands, and shall put in its poles.
4:7
又要用藍色布鋪在陳設餅的桌子上，將盤子、調羹、奠酒的壺和杯，擺在上頭；桌子上也必有常設的餅。
And over the table of the bread of the Presence they shall spread a blue cloth, and put on it the plates and the spoons and the bowls and the pitchers of the drink offering; and the continual bread shall be on it.
4:8
又要鋪上朱紅色布，再蒙上海狗皮蓋，並把杠穿上。
And they shall spread over them a scarlet cloth, and cover it with a covering of porpoise skin, and shall put in its poles.
4:9
要拿藍色布，把燈檯和燈檯上供職用的燈盞、燈剪、燈花盤、並一切盛油的器皿，全都遮蓋。
And they shall take a blue cloth, and cover the lampstand of the light and its lamps and its tongs and its firepans and all its oil vessels with which they minister to it.
4:10
又要把燈檯和燈檯的一切器具包在海狗皮裏，放在抬架上。
And they shall put it and all its utensils within a covering of porpoise skin, and shall put it on the carrying frame.
4:11
在金壇上要鋪藍色布，蒙上海狗皮蓋，並把杠穿上。
And over the golden altar they shall spread a blue cloth, and cover it with a covering of porpoise skin, and shall put in its poles.
4:12
又要把聖所裏供職用的一切器具，包在藍色布裏，蒙上海狗皮蓋，放在抬架上。
And they shall take all the utensils of ministry with which they minister in the sanctuary, and put them in a blue cloth, and cover them with a covering of porpoise skin, and shall put them on the carrying frame.
4:13
要收去壇上的灰，把紫色布鋪在壇上；
And they shall remove the ashes from the altar, and spread a purple cloth over it.
4:14
又要把壇上供職用的一切器具，就是火盆、肉叉、鏟子、盤子，一切屬壇的器具都擺在壇上，又鋪上海狗皮蓋，並把杠穿上。
And they shall put upon it all its utensils with which they minister upon it, the firepans, the forks, and the shovels, and the basins-all the utensils of the altar; and they shall spread over it a covering of porpoise skin, and put in its poles.
4:15
亞倫和他兒子把聖所和聖所的一切物件遮蓋完了，將要起營的時候，哥轄的子孫就要來抬，只是不可摸聖物，免得他們死亡。會幕裏這些物件是哥轄子孫所當抬的。
And when Aaron and his sons have finished covering the sanctuary and all the furnishings of the sanctuary, whenever the camp sets out, then the sons of Kohath shall come to carry them; but they shall not touch the holy things, or they will die. These things are the burden of the sons of Kohath in the Tent of Meeting.
4:16
祭司亞倫的兒子以利亞撒所要照管的是點燈的油與馨香的香，並常獻的素祭和膏油，也要照管全帳幕與其中所有的，就是聖所和聖所的器具。
And the oversight of Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest shall be the oil for the light and the fragrant incense and the continual meal offering and the anointing oil, the oversight of all the tabernacle and all that is in it, the sanctuary and its furnishings.
4:17
耶和華對摩西、亞倫說，
Then Jehovah spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,
4:18
你們不可將哥轄人家族的支派從利未人中剪除；
Do not let the tribe of the families of the Kohathites be cut off from among the Levites;
4:19
他們挨近至聖之物的時候，亞倫和他兒子要進去派他們各人所當辦的，所當抬的；要這樣待他們，好使他們活著，不至死亡；
But do this to them that they may live and not die when they approach the most holy things: Aaron and his sons shall go in and assign each one of them to his service and to his burden;
4:20
只是他們連片刻都不可進去觀看聖所，免得死亡。
But the Kohathites shall not go in to see the sanctuary even for a moment; otherwise they will die.
4:21
耶和華對摩西說，
Then Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
4:22
你也要計算革順子孫的總數；按他們的宗族、家族，
Take the sum of the sons of Gershon also, by their fathers' households, by their families;
4:23
從三十歲直到五十歲，凡進來事奉，在會幕裏辦事的，你都要數點。
From thirty years old and upward to fifty years old you shall number them, everyone who enters to carry out the service to do the work in the Tent of Meeting.
4:24
革順人家族在辦事、抬物上的事奉，乃是這樣：
This is the service of the families of the Gershonites, in serving and in bearing burdens:
4:25
他們要抬帳幕的幕幔和會幕，會幕的蓋與其上的海狗皮蓋，和會幕的門簾，
They shall carry the curtains of the tabernacle, and the Tent of Meeting, its covering, and the covering of porpoise skin that is on top of it, and the screen for the entrance of the Tent of Meeting,
4:26
院子的帷子和門簾、(院子是圍著帳幕和祭壇的、)繩子，並事奉用的一切器具；這些不論該怎麼處理，他們都要去辦。
And the hangings of the court, and the screen for the entrance of the gate of the court, which is around the tabernacle and around the altar, and their cords, and all the equipment for their service; and whatever is to be done with them, so shall they do.
4:27
革順的子孫在抬物、辦事上的一切事奉，都要照亞倫和他兒子的吩咐；他們所當抬的一切，你們要派他們看守。
All the service of the sons of the Gershonites shall be at the command of Aaron and his sons, in all their burden and in all their service; and you shall assign to them the charge of all they are to carry.
4:28
這是革順子孫的家族在會幕裏所辦的事；他們的職責，要在祭司亞倫的兒子以他瑪的管理下。
This is the service of the families of the sons of the Gershonites in the Tent of Meeting, and their charge shall be under the direction of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.
4:29
至於米拉利的子孫，你要按他們的家族、宗族，數點他們；
As for the sons of Merari, you shall number them by their families, by their fathers' households;
4:30
從三十歲直到五十歲，凡進來事奉，在會幕裏辦事的，你都要數點。
From thirty years old and upward even to fifty years old you shall number them, everyone who enters into the service to do the work of the Tent of Meeting.
4:31
按他們在會幕裏的一切事奉，他們的職責是抬帳幕的板、閂、柱子和卯座，
And this is the charge of what they are to carry, according to all their service in the Tent of Meeting: the boards of the tabernacle and its bars and its pillars and its sockets,
4:32
院子四圍的柱子和卯座、橛子、繩子、和一切的器具，並辦理一切有關的事；他們所當抬的器具，你們要按名指定。
And the pillars around the court and their sockets and their pegs and their cords, with all their equipment and with all their service; and you shall assign by name the equipment they have been charged to carry.
4:33
這是米拉利子孫的家族，按他們在會幕裏的一切事奉，所辦的事，都在祭司亞倫的兒子以他瑪的管理下。
This is the service of the families of the sons of Merari, according to all their service in the Tent of Meeting, under the direction of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.
4:34
摩西、亞倫與會眾的諸首領將哥轄的子孫，按他們的家族、宗族，
And Moses and Aaron and the leaders of the assembly numbered the sons of the Kohathites by their families and by their fathers' households,
4:35
從三十歲直到五十歲，凡進來事奉，在會幕裏辦事的，都數點了。
From thirty years old and upward even to fifty years old, everyone who entered into the service for work in the Tent of Meeting.
4:36
他們按家族被數點的，有二千七百五十名。
And those who were numbered of them by their families were two thousand seven hundred fifty.
4:37
這些是哥轄人的家族中被數點的，都是在會幕裏辦事的，就是摩西、亞倫照耶和華藉摩西所吩咐數點的。
These are those who were numbered of the families of the Kohathites, all who served in the Tent of Meeting, whom Moses and Aaron numbered according to the commandment of Jehovah through Moses.
4:38
革順的子孫，按他們家族、宗族被數點的，
And those who were numbered of the sons of Gershon by their families and by their fathers' households,
4:39
從三十歲直到五十歲，凡進來事奉，在會幕裏辦事的，
From thirty years old and upward even to fifty years old, everyone who entered into the service for work in the Tent of Meeting,
4:40
就是他們按家族、宗族被數點的，有二千六百三十名。
Even those who were numbered of them, by their families, by their fathers' households were two thousand six hundred thirty.
4:41
這些是革順子孫的家族中被數點的，都是在會幕裏辦事的，就是摩西、亞倫照耶和華所吩咐數點的。
These were those who were numbered of the families of the sons of Gershon, everyone who served in the Tent of Meeting, whom Moses and Aaron numbered according to the commandment of Jehovah.
4:42
米拉利子孫的家族中，按他們家族、宗族被數點的，
And those who were numbered of the families of the sons of Merari, by their families, by their fathers' households,
4:43
從三十歲直到五十歲，凡進來事奉，在會幕裏辦事的，
From thirty years old and upward even to fifty years old, everyone who entered into the service for work in the Tent of Meeting,
4:44
就是他們按家族被數點的，有三千二百名。
Even those who were numbered of them by their families were three thousand two hundred.
4:45
這些是米拉利子孫的家族中被數點的，就是摩西、亞倫照耶和華藉摩西所吩咐數點的。
These were those who were numbered of the families of the sons of Merari, whom Moses and Aaron numbered according to the commandment of Jehovah through Moses.
4:46
凡被數點的利未人，就是摩西、亞倫並以色列眾首領，按他們的家族、宗族所數點的，
All those who were numbered of the Levites, whom Moses and Aaron and the leaders of Israel numbered, by their families and by their fathers' households,
4:47
從三十歲直到五十歲，凡進來供職，在會幕裏辦事，作抬物之工的，
From thirty years old and upward even to fifty years old, everyone who entered to do the work of service and the work of bearing burdens in the Tent of Meeting,
4:48
就是那些被數點的，共有八千五百八十名。
Even those who were numbered of them were eight thousand five hundred eighty.
4:49
摩西按他們各人所辦的事、所抬的物，照耶和華藉他所吩咐的，數點他們；他們這樣被摩西數點，正如耶和華所吩咐他的。
According to the commandment of Jehovah through Moses they were numbered, everyone according to his service and according to his burden; thus they were numbered by him, just as Jehovah had commanded Moses.

6:1
耶穌離開那裏，來到自己的家鄉，門徒也跟著祂。
And He went out from there and came into His own country, and His disciples followed Him.
6:2
到了安息日，祂在會堂裏施教；許多人聽見，就甚驚訝，說，這人從那裏得來這些事？所賜給祂的是甚麼樣的智慧！這樣的異能竟然經祂的手行出來！
And when the Sabbath had come, He began to teach in the synagogue; and many hearing were astounded, saying, Where did this man get these things? And what is this wisdom given to this man, and how is it that such works of power take place through His hands?
6:3
這不是那木匠麼？不是馬利亞的兒子，雅各、約西、猶大、西門的長兄麼？祂妹妹們不也是在我們這裏麼？他們就因祂絆跌。
Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? And are not His sisters here with us? And they were stumbled in Him.
6:4
耶穌對他們說，申言者除了在本地、親屬並本家之外，沒有不被人尊敬的。
And Jesus said to them, A prophet is not without honor except in his own country and among his own relatives and in his own house.
6:5
耶穌在那裏就不能行甚麼異能，不過按手在幾個病人身上，治好他們。
And He could not do any work of power there, except to lay His hands upon a few of the sick and heal them.
6:6
祂也希奇他們不信，就周遊四圍鄉村施教去了。
And He marveled because of their unbelief; and He went around the villages in a circuit, teaching.
6:7
耶穌叫了十二個門徒來，差遣他們兩個兩個的出去，賜給他們權柄，制伏污靈；
And He called the twelve to Him and began to send them out two by two and gave them authority over the unclean spirits;
6:8
並且吩咐他們，行路的時候，除了手杖以外，甚麼都不要帶，不要帶食物和口袋，腰袋裏也不要帶錢；
And He charged them not to take anything for the journey except only a staff: no bread, no bag, no money in their belt;
6:9
只要穿鞋，也不要穿兩件裏衣。
But to have sandals tied on; and said, Do not put on two tunics.
6:10
又對他們說，你們無論到那裏，進了一家，就住在那裏，直到離開那地方。
And He said to them, Wherever you enter into a house, there remain until you depart from that place.
6:11
無論何處不接待你們，又不聽你們，你們離開那裏的時候，就把腳上的塵土跺下去，作反對他們的見證。
And whatever place does not receive you nor hear you, as you go out from there, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them.
6:12
門徒就出去，傳道叫人悔改，
And they went forth and proclaimed that men should repent,
6:13
又趕出許多鬼，用油抹了許多病人，治好他們。
And they cast out many demons and anointed many of the sick with oil and healed them.
6:14
耶穌的名聲傳揚出去，希律王也聽見了。有人說，施浸者約翰從死人中復活了，所以這些異能發顯在他身上。
And King Herod heard of it, for His name had become known, and they said, John the baptizer has been raised from the dead, and because of this these works of power are operating through him.
6:15
但別人說，祂是以利亞；又有人說，祂是申言者，正像申言者中的一位。
But others said, He is Elijah; and others said, He is a prophet, like one of the prophets.
6:16
希律聽見，卻說，是我所斬的約翰復活了。
But Herod, hearing of it, said, He whom I beheaded, John, this one was raised!
6:17
原來希律為他兄弟腓力的妻子希羅底的緣故，差人拿住約翰，把他捆鎖在監裏，因為希律已經娶了那婦人。
For Herod himself had sent men and seized John and bound him in prison on account of Herodias, the wife of Philip his brother, because he had married her.
6:18
約翰曾對希律說，你不可娶你兄弟的妻子。
For John had been saying to Herod, It is not lawful for you to have the wife of your brother.
6:19
於是希羅底懷恨他，想要殺他，只是不能。
Thus, Herodias had a grudge against him and wanted to kill him and could not,
6:20
因為希律曉得約翰是義人，是聖人，所以敬畏他，並且保護他；雖聽他講論，甚感困惑，卻仍喜歡聽他。
For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a righteous and holy man, and kept him safe. And when he heard him, he was very perplexed yet heard him gladly.
6:21
有一天，機會來了。希律在他的生日，為他的大臣和千夫長，並加利利的首領，擺設筵席。
And an opportune day came, when Herod on his birthday made a banquet for his courtiers and the commanders and the leading men of Galilee.
6:22
希羅底的女兒進來跳舞，使希律和同席的人都歡喜。王就對閨女說，你隨意向我求甚麼，我都必給你。
And when the daughter of Herodias herself entered and danced, she pleased Herod and those reclining at table with him. The king said to the girl, Ask of me whatever you want, and I will give it to you.
6:23
又極力對她起誓說，你無論向我求甚麼，就是我國的一半，我也必給你。
And he swore to her earnestly, Whatever you ask of me, I will give to you, up to half of my kingdom.
6:24
她就出去，對她母親說，我該求甚麼？她母親說，施浸者約翰的頭。
And she went out and said to her mother, What should I ask for? And she said, The head of John the baptizer.
6:25
她隨即匆忙的進到王那裏，求他說，我願王立時把施浸者約翰的頭，放在盤子上給我。
And coming in immediately with haste to the king, she asked, saying, I want you to give me at once the head of John the Baptist on a platter.
6:26
王雖甚憂愁，但因所起的誓，又因同席的人，就不願拒絕。
And the king was very grieved, yet because of the oaths and those reclining at table, he did not want to refuse her.
6:27
隨即差遣一個衛兵，吩咐拿約翰的頭來。衛兵就去，在監裏斬了約翰，
And immediately the king sent a guard and ordered him to bring his head. And he went out and beheaded him in the prison,
6:28
把他的頭放在盤子上，拿來給閨女，閨女就給她母親。
And brought his head on a platter, and gave it to the girl, and the girl gave it to her mother.
6:29
約翰的門徒聽見了，就來把他的屍體領去，放在墳墓裏。
And when his disciples heard about it, they came and took his corpse and put it in a tomb.
