18:17
亞哈見了以利亞，便說，使以色列遭災的就是你麼？
And when Ahab saw Elijah, Ahab said to him, Is that you, the troubler of Israel?
18:18
以利亞說，使以色列遭災的不是我，乃是你和你父家；因為你們離棄耶和華的誡命，去隨從諸巴力。
And he said, I have not troubled Israel, but you and your father's house have, in that you have forsaken the commandments of Jehovah and have gone after the Baals.
18:19
現在你當差遣人，招聚以色列眾人，和耶洗別所供養，巴力的那四百五十個申言者，以及亞舍拉的那四百個申言者，使他們都上迦密山去見我。
And now send word, and gather all Israel to me at Mount Carmel, as well as the four hundred and fifty prophets of Baal and the four hundred prophets of the Asherah, who eat at Jezebel's table.
18:20
亞哈就差遣人到以色列眾人那裏，招聚眾申言者上迦密山。
So Ahab sent word to all the children of Israel and gathered the prophets together unto Mount Carmel.
18:21
以利亞前來對眾民說，你們心持兩意要到幾時呢？若耶和華是神，就當跟從耶和華；若巴力是神，就當跟從巴力。眾民一言不答。
Then Elijah came near to all the people and said, How long will you go hopping between two opinions? If Jehovah is God, follow Him; but if Baal is, follow him. And the people did not answer him a word.
18:22
以利亞對眾民說，作耶和華申言者的，只剩下我一個人，巴力的申言者，卻有四百五十人。
And Elijah said to the people, I alone am left as a prophet of Jehovah, but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men.
18:23
當給我們兩隻公牛，巴力的申言者可以挑選一隻，切成塊子放在柴上，不要點火；
Let them therefore give us two bulls. And let them choose one bull for themselves and cut it in pieces and put it on the wood, but let them apply no fire; and I will prepare the other bull and put it on the wood, and I will apply no fire.
18:24
我也豫備一隻公牛放在柴上，也不點火。你們呼求你們神的名，我也呼求耶和華的名；那降火回應的神，就是神。眾民回答說，這話甚好。
Then call on the name of your god, and I will call on the name of Jehovah; and the God who answers by fire, He will be God. And all the people answered and said, The word seems good.
18:25
以利亞對巴力的申言者說，你們既是人多，當先挑選一隻公牛，豫備好了，就呼求你們神的名，卻不要點火。
And Elijah said to the prophets of Baal, Choose one bull for yourselves, and prepare it first, for there are many of you. And call on the name of your god, but apply no fire.
18:26
他們將所給他們的公牛豫備好了，從早晨到午間，呼求巴力的名，說，巴力阿，求你回應我們！卻沒有聲音，沒有回應的。他們在所築的壇四圍踴跳。
So they took the bull which had been given them and prepared it; and they called on the name of Baal from morning until noon, saying, O Baal, answer us! But there was no voice, and no one answered. And they leaped around the altar that had been made.
18:27
到了正午，以利亞嬉笑他們，說，大聲呼求罷，因為他是神；他或在默想，或走到一邊，或在行路。他或在睡覺，就要醒來。
Then at noon Elijah mocked them and said, Cry out with a loud voice, for he is a god; for he is meditating or has wandered off or is on a journey. Perhaps he is asleep and will awake.
18:28
他們大聲呼求，按著他們的規矩，用刀槍自割自刺，直到血流滿身。
And they cried out with a loud voice and cut themselves, according to their custom, with swords and spears until blood gushed out all over them.
18:29
中午過後，他們狂呼亂叫，直到獻晚祭的時候，卻沒有聲音，沒有回應的，也沒有理會的。
And when noon had past, they prophesied until the time of the offering up of the meal offering; but there was no voice nor any that answered nor any attention paid.
18:30
以利亞對眾民說，你們到我這裏來。眾民就到他那裏。他便重修已經毀壞的耶和華的壇。
Then Elijah said to all the people, Come near to me. And all the people came near to him. And he repaired the altar of Jehovah which was broken down.
18:31
以利亞照雅各子孫支派的數目，取了十二塊石頭，(耶和華的話曾臨到雅各，說，你的名要叫以色列，)
And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob (to whom the word of Jehovah came, saying, Israel shall be your name);
18:32
用這些石頭在耶和華的名裏築一座壇，在壇的四圍挖溝，可容穀種二細亞。
And with the stones he built an altar in the name of Jehovah, and he made a trench around the altar, with a capacity of two measures of seed.
18:33
他又在壇上擺好了柴，把公牛切成塊子，放在柴上，說，你們用四個桶盛滿水，倒在燔祭和柴上；
And he arranged the wood and cut the bull in pieces and laid it on the wood. And he said, Fill four jars with water, and pour the water on the burnt offering and on the wood.
18:34
又說，倒第二次；他們就倒第二次。又說，倒第三次；
And he said, Do it a second time. And they did it a second time. And he said, Do it a third time. And they did it a third time.
18:35
他們就倒第三次。水流在壇的四圍，溝裏也滿了水。
And the water went around the altar, and he filled the trench also with water.
18:36
到了獻晚祭的時候，申言者以利亞近前來，說，亞伯拉罕、以撒、以色列的神，耶和華阿，求你今日使人知道你在以色列中是神，也知道我是你的僕人，又是憑你的話行這一切事。
Then at the time of the offering up of the meal offering, Elijah the prophet came near and said, O Jehovah, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known today that You are God in Israel and that I am Your servant and that I have done all these things by Your word.
18:37
耶和華阿，求你應允我，應允我，使這民知道你耶和華是神，又知道是你叫他們的心回轉。
Answer me, O Jehovah; answer me, that this people may know that You, O Jehovah, are God and that You have turned their heart back again.
18:38
於是耶和華降下火來，燒盡燔祭、木柴、石頭、塵土，又燒乾溝裏的水。
And the fire of Jehovah fell and consumed the burnt offering and the wood and the stones and the dust, and it licked up the water that was in the trench.
18:39
眾民看見了，就面伏於地，說，耶和華是神！耶和華是神！
And when all the people saw this, they fell on their faces and said, Jehovah-He is God! Jehovah-He is God!
18:40
以利亞對他們說，拿住巴力的申言者，不讓他們一人逃脫！眾人就拿住他們；以利亞帶他們下到基順河邊，在那裏殺了他們。
And Elijah said to them, Seize the prophets of Baal; let not one of them escape! And they seized them, and Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon and slaughtered them there.
18:41
以利亞對亞哈說，你上去吃喝罷，因為有多雨的響聲了。
Then Elijah said to Ahab, Go up; eat and drink, for there is the sound of an abundance of rain.
18:42
亞哈就上去吃喝。以利亞上了迦密山頂，屈身在地，將臉伏在兩膝之間；
And Ahab went up to eat and drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel, and he bowed down on the earth and put his face between his knees.
18:43
對僕人說，你上去，向海觀看。僕人就上去觀看，說，沒有甚麼。他說，你再去觀看；如此七次。
And he said to his attendant, Go up now; look toward the sea. And he went up and looked and said, There is nothing. And he said seven times, Go back.
18:44
第七次僕人說，看哪，有一小片雲，如人的手掌那樣大，從海裏上來。以利亞說，你上去告訴亞哈，當套車下去，免得被雨阻擋。
And at the seventh time the attendant said, Now there is a cloud, small as a man's hand, coming up out of the sea. And Elijah said, Go up and say to Ahab, Prepare a chariot and go down, so that the rain does not stop you.
18:45
霎時間，天因風雲黑暗，降下大雨。亞哈就坐車往耶斯列去了。
And in the meantime the heavens became black with clouds, and there was wind and a great rain. And Ahab mounted his chariot and went to Jezreel.
18:46
耶和華的手臨到以利亞身上，他就束上腰，奔在亞哈前頭，直到耶斯列的入口。
And the hand of Jehovah was upon Elijah; and he girded up his loins and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.
19:1
亞哈將以利亞一切所行的，和他用刀殺眾申言者的一切事，都告訴耶洗別。
And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done and all about how he had slain all the prophets with the sword.
19:2
耶洗別就差遣使者去見以利亞，說，明日到這時候，我若不使你的性命像那些人的性命一樣，願神明重重的降罰與我。
And Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, The gods do so to me and even more, if by this time tomorrow I do not make your life like the life of one of them!
19:3
以利亞害怕，就起來逃命，到了猶大的別是巴，將僕人留在那裏；
And because he was afraid, he rose up and went away for his life; and he came to Beer-sheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his attendant there.
19:4
自己在曠野走了一日的路程，來到一棵羅騰樹下，就坐在那裏求死，說，耶和華阿，罷了；求你現在取我的性命，因為我不比我的列祖好。
And he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness and came and sat down under a certain broom shrub; and he requested for himself that he might die and said, It is enough; now, O Jehovah, take my life, for I am no better than my fathers.
19:5
他就躺在羅騰樹下睡著了。忽然有一個天使拍他，說，起來吃罷。
And he lay down and slept under the broom shrub. And suddenly an angel touched him and said to him, Rise up and eat.
19:6
他觀看，見頭旁有炭火烤的餅，與一瓶水；他就吃了喝了，仍然躺下。
And he looked, and there at his head was a cake, baked on hot stones, and a jar of water. And he ate and drank, and lay down again.
19:7
耶和華的使者第二次來拍他，說，起來吃罷；因為你當走的路甚遠。
And the angel of Jehovah came again the second time and touched him and said, Rise up and eat; for the journey is too great for you.
19:8
他就起來吃了喝了，仗著這飲食的力，走了四十晝四十夜，到了神的山，就是何烈山。
And he rose up and ate and drank, and he went in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights to Horeb the mount of God.
19:9
他在那裏進了一個洞，就住在洞中。耶和華的話臨到他，說，以利亞阿，你在這裏作甚麼？
And there he went into a cave and lodged there. And at that time the word of Jehovah came to him; and He said to him, What are you doing here, Elijah?
19:10
他說，我為耶和華萬軍之神大發妒忌；因為以色列人背棄了你的約，拆毀了你的壇，用刀殺了你的申言者，只剩下我一個人，他們還尋索要奪我的命。
And he said, I have been very jealous for Jehovah the God of hosts; for the children of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, thrown down Your altars, and slain Your prophets with the sword; and I alone am left, and they seek to take my life.
19:11
耶和華說，你出來站在山上，在我耶和華面前。那時耶和華從那裏經過，在祂面前有烈風大作，崩山碎石，耶和華卻不在風中；風後地震，耶和華卻不在其中；
And He said, Go out, and stand upon the mountain before Jehovah. And suddenly Jehovah passed by, and a great, strong wind rent the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before Jehovah-Jehovah was not in the wind. And after the wind, an earthquake-Jehovah was not in the earthquake.
19:12
地震後有火，耶和華也不在火中；火後有微小柔細的聲音。
And after the earthquake, a fire-Jehovah was not in the fire. And after the fire, a gentle, quiet voice.
19:13
以利亞聽見，就用外衣蒙上臉，出來站在洞口。有聲音向他說，以利亞阿，你在這裏作甚麼？
And when Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. And then a voice came to him and said, What are you doing here, Elijah?
19:14
他說，我為耶和華萬軍之神大發妒忌；因為以色列人背棄了你的約，拆毀了你的壇，用刀殺了你的申言者，只剩下我一個人，他們還尋索要奪我的命。
And he said, I have been very jealous for Jehovah the God of hosts; for the children of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, thrown down Your altars, and slain Your prophets with the sword; and I alone am left, and they seek to take my life.
19:15
耶和華對他說，你去罷，從你的原路回大馬色的曠野去；到了那裏，就要膏哈薛作亞蘭王，
And Jehovah said to him, Go; return on your way to the wilderness of Damascus; and when you come there, anoint Hazael as king over Syria;
19:16
又膏寧示的孫子耶戶作以色列王，並膏亞伯米何拉人沙法的兒子以利沙作申言者接續你。
And Jehu the son of Nimshi you shall anoint as king over Israel; and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel-meholah you shall anoint as prophet in your place.
19:17
將來躲過哈薛之刀的，必被耶戶所殺；躲過耶戶之刀的，必被以利沙所殺。
And him who escapes the sword of Hazael, Jehu will kill; and him who escapes the sword of Jehu, Elisha will kill.
19:18
但我在以色列中為自己留下了七千人，都是未曾向巴力屈膝，未曾與巴力親嘴的。
Yet I have left Myself seven thousand in Israel, all the knees that have not bowed unto Baal and every mouth that has not kissed him.
19:19
於是以利亞離開那裏走了，遇見沙法的兒子以利沙；他正在耕地，在他前頭有十二對牛，自己趕著第十二對。以利亞往前走到他那裏，將自己的外衣搭在他身上。
And he went from there and found Elisha the son of Shaphat. And he was plowing with twelve yokes before him, and he was with the twelfth. And Elijah went over to him and threw his mantle upon him.
19:20
以利沙就撇下牛，跑去跟隨以利亞，說，求你讓我先與父母親嘴，然後我便跟隨你。以利亞對他說，你回去罷，我向你作了甚麼呢？
And he left the oxen and ran after Elijah and said, Let me kiss my father and my mother, and I will follow you. And he said to him, Go back again; for what have I done to you?
19:21
以利沙就離開他回去，把一對牛宰了，用套牛的器具煮肉給民吃，隨後就起身跟隨以利亞，服事他。
And he returned from him and took the yoke of oxen and slaughtered them; and he boiled their flesh with the implements of the oxen and gave it to the people, and they ate. And he rose up and went after Elijah and ministered to him.
新約 New Testament
約翰福音 John 8:37-59
8:37
我知道你們是亞伯拉罕的後裔；你們卻想要殺我，因為你們裏面容不下我的話。
I know that you are Abraham's seed; but you seek to kill Me because My word has no place in you.
8:38
我所說的，是在我父那裏看見的；你們所行的，是從你們的父聽見的。
I speak the things which I have seen with My Father; so then, you also do the things which you have heard from your father.
8:39
他們回答祂說，我們的父就是亞伯拉罕。耶穌對他們說，你們若是亞伯拉罕的子孫，就必行亞伯拉罕所作的。
They answered and said to Him, Our father is Abraham. Jesus said to them, If you were Abraham's children, you would do the works of Abraham.
8:40
現在你們卻想要殺我這個將從神所聽見的真理，對你們講了的人！這不是亞伯拉罕所行的。
But now you are seeking to kill Me, a man who has told you the truth which I heard from God; Abraham did not do this.
8:41
你們是行你們父所作的。他們對祂說，我們不是從淫亂生的；我們只有一位父，就是神。
You do the works of your father. They then said to Him, We were not born of fornication; we have one Father, God.
8:42
耶穌對他們說，倘若神是你們的父，你們就必愛我；因為我是出於神而前來的，並且已經來了。我不是從自己來的，乃是祂差了我來。
Jesus said to them, If God were your Father you would love Me; for I came forth out from God and have come from Him; for I have not come of Myself, but He sent Me.
8:43
你們為甚麼不明白我的講說？無非是因你們不能聽我的話。
Why do you not understand My speaking? It is because you cannot hear My word.
8:44
你們是出於那父魔鬼，你們父的私慾，你們願意行。他從起初就是殺人的，並且不站在真理中，因為在他裏面沒有真理。他說謊是出於他自己的私有物，因他是說謊的，也是說謊者的父。
You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks the lie, he speaks it out of his own possessions; for he is a liar and the father of it.
8:45
我講真理，你們卻因此不信我。
But because I speak the truth, you do not believe Me.
8:46
你們中間誰能指證我有罪？我既然講真理，你們為甚麼不信我？
Which of you convicts Me of sin? Since I speak truth, why do you not believe Me?
8:47
出於神的，必聽神的話；你們所以不聽，因為你們不是出於神。
He who is of God hears the words of God; for this reason you do not hear them, because you are not of God.
8:48
猶太人回答祂說，我們說你是撒瑪利亞人，又有鬼附著，豈不正對麼？
The Jews answered and said to Him, Have we not spoken well in saying that You are a Samaritan and have a demon?
8:49
耶穌回答說，我沒有鬼附著，我尊敬我的父，你們倒侮辱我。
Jesus answered, I do not have a demon, but I honor My Father, and you dishonor Me.
8:50
然而我不尋求自己的榮耀，有一位為我尋求榮耀並審判人的。
But I do not seek My glory; there is One who seeks glory for Me and judges.
8:51
我實實在在的告訴你們，人若遵守我的話，必永遠不見死。
Truly, truly, I say to you, If anyone keeps My word, he shall by no means see death forever.
8:52
猶太人對祂說，現在我們知道你有鬼附著。亞伯拉罕死了，眾申言者也死了，你還說人若遵守我的話，必永遠不嘗死味。
The Jews therefore said to Him, Now we know that You have a demon. Abraham died, and the prophets too; yet You say, If anyone keeps My word, he shall by no means taste death forever.
8:53
難道你比我們的祖宗亞伯拉罕還大麼？他死了，眾申言者也死了。你將自己當作甚麼人？
Are You greater than our father Abraham, who died? The prophets died too. Who are You making Yourself?
8:54
耶穌回答說，我若榮耀自己，我的榮耀就算不得甚麼，榮耀我的乃是我的父，就是你們所說是你們神的那一位。
Jesus answered, If I glorify Myself, My glory is nothing; it is My Father who glorifies Me, of whom you say that He is your God.
8:55
你們未曾認識祂，我卻認識祂。我若說不認識祂，我就是說謊的，像你們一樣，但我認識祂，也遵守祂的話。
Yet you have not known Him, but I know Him. And if I say that I do not know Him, I will be like you, a liar; but I do know Him and I keep His word.
8:56
你們的祖宗亞伯拉罕歡騰的要見我的日子，既看見了，就歡樂。
Your father Abraham exulted that he would see My day, and he saw it and rejoiced.
8:57
於是猶太人對祂說，你還沒有五十歲，豈見過亞伯拉罕？
The Jews then said to Him, You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?
8:58
耶穌對他們說，我實實在在的告訴你們，還沒有亞伯拉罕，我就是。
Jesus said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Before Abraham came into being, I am.
8:59
於是他們拿石頭要打祂，耶穌卻隱藏起來，從殿裏出去了。
So they picked up stones to throw at Him, but Jesus was hidden and went out of the temple.
